Greenway Institute is our vision of a technically-advanced, "zero-sacrifice totally-green" college teaching select undergraduates in "sustainable engineering" and "green technology". This proposed Institute will operate on the “GreenZERO Principle” utilizing zero non-renewable energy and outputting zero waste, all with zero sacrifice of comfort, reliability, and technology. Greenway Institute will educate undergraduate students in a stimulating, interactive, directed-study, apprentice-based style, while gathering top professors in the fields of alternative energy generation, energy storage/carriers, and zero waste/sustainable engineering systems. Among its other functions, Greenway Institute will also build a technical reference database for green technologies, where consumers, builders, engineers, and the public can find information online. A major part of the Institute mission will be to work with industry and municipal collaborators to implement green technologies and sustainable business practices. We feel strongly that technical expertise and training in green technologies will be a key factor in future widespread acceptance and adoption of sustainable technologies. To make this vision a reality, we have researched state-of-the-art green technologies to come up with a highly reliable design for this Institute which will require no sacrifice of creature-comforts by the residents. Our research on green technologies, as well as information on alternative educational programs, is presented in an eight chapter e-book that both serves as a proposal for starting and funding Greenway Institute. The book provides cost, performance, and general technical information on the latest green technologies in energy generation, energy storage/carriers, and zero-waste/sustainable engineering systems.

The vision of Greenway Institute transcends a demonstration project, gathering together top professors of sustainable engineering and "green" technologies; educating select students in a new exciting hands-on, self-directed, apprentice-style setting; working with local and distant communities, corporations, and organizations to further new and existing technologies; cataloguing current green technologies onsite and online for the public to explore; and creating a healthy and fair workplace for our talented staff.
